Oh Mother, Oh Father

Oh Mother, Oh Father

A Poem by PadfootBlack
"

Though they've done some stuff wrong along the road of parenting, I couldn't have asked for better comforters, guides, and friends.

"

Oh Mother, Oh Father

Your teaching are lanterns along the path of my life

Your hand was always there

is always there

to guide, to caress, to steer

Your love is incredible, the strongest of bonds

Oh Mother, Oh Father

I see other parents

I see abuse

neglect

And wonder

How parents could possibly do

such things

to their children

Oh Mother, Oh Father

I am eternally blessed to have you as my advisors

You will always love me

No matter -what- I do

You've made a point of letting me know

You will be there

forever

Oh Mother, Oh Father

thank you.

A wise person knows when they were loved and took care of by good people. I like the flow and set-up of this poem. I was raised my kind and good Grandparent who taught me to have a safe home and kind words. A beautiful and positive poem. Thank you.

What a wonderful message to them.. excellent write.
I too have this kind of situation with my mother.. we're more best friends than parent and child. We're really close. It's great to see that other teenagers have the same relationship.

Matured. Most typical teenagers HATE their parents. Who am I to judge them? Surely they have their reasons, whatever they may be. This was a beautiful poem that showed your maturity and way of thinking. Your gratitude and willingness to look beyond hard times to what's important for you. Once again, well done.
