1 Kings 19:12

1 Kings 19:12

A Poem by PadfootBlack

You came to me as a fawn
fragile and gentle
to still my troubled heart.
There were no thunderbolts
or earthquakes
but i could not mistake
the majesty reflected
in Your soft brown eyes
with a white speckled back
and unsteady legs
that wobbled when You walked.
i suppose You don't always display Your strength
for all to see
sometimes
You know that Your children
just need a fuzzy-eared friend
to remind them that the world is still beautiful
even when its people
are not.
