Welcome Back Bad Coping Skills

Welcome Back Bad Coping Skills

A Poem by Tilian Darko

Cut the skin of life.
If they ask self-harm somewhere they will not see.
Open your skin up several times.
Make blood pour to help the pain.
Change your skin color from brown to red.
As one scar heals over the next to make more to cover your chest.
If they ask if "you're okay." Deny. Say "yes."
Hide the tools so only you can find them.
You ask for help.
Yet it is only in your head.
You ask to stop.
Yet once again it is only in your head.
Peel off the area that is heeling so blood drips.
Make numerous scars on your body to feel nothing.
Self-mutilation is the key to feel nonexistence.
As the insides break so does my skin.
My heart breaks along with my will to live
