Masked To Start A New

Masked To Start A New

A Poem by Tilian Darko

Tongue cut off for speaking up.
Mouth closed shut with a needle and thread.
Unable to speak those words unsaid.
Saliva forming from the sewn up lips.
Eyes cut out for seeing too much.
Tears fall down from forgotten eyes.
Hands shaking from the overdose on pills.
Feeling dead, numb from head to toe.
Seeing darkness wherever I go.
Being hurt and mute is all I know.
Mute from the people that want me okay.
I promise.
I promise that I am not okay.
I play hide and seek, except I hide and don't want to be found.
Those games are played by people who want to deceive.
They are dead inside just like me.
They rot like their unbeaten hearts.
My heart is dead from the soul-sucking c***s.
I stand tall with blood painted on my body.
Blood from the scars that turned into memories.
Forgotten from the copious amount of pills.
If I was found dead the next day know I was brave and true until the end.
