The Black SeaA Poem by Patrick CallaghanIn memory of those who gave their lives, unknown.Over pale white cliffs, sheer and strange, on a sea as black
as night in the morning sun, a ship of fools was
cast, sadly sailing the unknown. As tragic eyes
sought foreign skies for the stars of home, gold tipped waves
murmured their assault. That tiny ship was wrecked,
sailors all but dead. Only a brave few
stood until the end, fighting a vortex
forged by godly hands. Lost! Lost, at last, but
remembered fondly, as the sweetest
tragedy ever cast. © 2010 Patrick Callaghan |
