Fossil Fuel

Fossil Fuel

A Poem by Patrick Callaghan

Sleepy fingers drew perfect circles on silver skin

Paler still by a thumbnail moon.

A single shadow, cast by two

SIlent, like a secret in the dark.

Velvet lips searched for mine

and breathed a promise in my ear

Silky words that tiptoed through the night.

a whisper that caught fire.

So Grecian, can almost hear Orpheus at his harp quickening the dead with feeling.

Should be set to music.

Very musical and lovely to hear spoken aloud. The first piece of yours I've read and I'm eager to read much more.
