What Is Happening

What Is Happening

A Poem by Pablo & Rookie

Love, your blankets are too dark,
I can't see your curves;

I know you're under there,
Happy as ever, memories ready to share;

You never leave me alone,
My heart is always full;

Particles pass, and sometimes you shudder,
That's life in the storm;

The mind takes over,
And fears build their walls;

Protecting me from the biggest waves,
Alertness heightened;

Where did you go,
We have a storm to survive;

I'm getting more scared,
I need you now more than ever;

I'm starting to forget that you ever existed in the first place,
Were those stories and hugs lies?;

I'm drowning alone,
And there's no one around;

The fear hurts,
But it seems to be my only savior;

Let me close my eyes,
And allow my body to take over;

Clearing the mind,
To feel and see the rhythm, of what;

A heavy bright star in the right eye,
passes all the way left;

Dad? Uncle Tom? My protectors? Is this a thing?,
Was that you?;

I'm back in bed, under the covers,
Safe, a cool breeze, comfortable in the darkness;

I feel the sheets move,
Or maybe I moved them;

It doesn't matter,
I'm with love;

And love is always with me.
