Lady Winter

Lady Winter

A Poem by PP
"

Personification of Winter as a lady!

"
Lady Winter descends the seasonal stairs
With graceful composure and an elegant demeanor,
Eclipsing the Sun God,
She carelessly descends, she smirks -
to see its chagrined face.
Yet she descends wearing her graceful dress.
Carelessly but effortlessly -
She spreads the cold fire upon each soul,
Her chilly breath spares no ghost..
Moody mornings she has, so does the ones she embraces.
She imposes long silent nights,
To weave romance in many young hearts;
Tucked away in cozy corners
by the wood burning fire..
Her aroma fills the lives of ones she beholds
With pleasant smell of love and hope,
Just when her giving wasn't enough-
She weeps so that she can cover her loved ones with snow..
She weeps yet weeps so silently,
She pours out divine impeccable flakes of purity.
She touches down on all our hearts..
O' so sweet is the Winter affair..

I'm glad Spring is here. Lady Winter didn't want to leave Michigan. I enjoyed the story and the description in the poem. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Wow , just wow. Amazing writing, really, you out done it.

My favorite line : "She spreads the cold fire upon each soul," - I don't think it's the same thing you meant it to be, but this line in my mind is about having the "cold" , basically having cough, fever, sneezes, basically everything is cold outside and you are heating up. just amazing.

best regards, mrknowall.

My first thought reading your notes Tink was along the lines of frigid and cold...as if. Ha, you wrote this one with so much warmth, hard to believe it's about winter. Nicely pen'd my friend!

A great write i must say. Good imagination. You have this eyes to see things that an artist can see. Reading this it make me feel like there is a different world of yours where everything is alive. I dont know whether anyone understand me but this is awesome

i really like the idea of her weeping tears of snow...

that is such a great image...she does come in kind of nonchalantly and carelessly...

and then gets pushed out by march...but before she leaves...she leaves her cold mark on us...

and even in her coldness there is beauty.
