Teach me no religion, Preach me no faith!

Teach me no religion, Preach me no faith!

A Poem by PP
"

Meaningless efforts..

"
Teach me no religion
Preach me no faith
Don't do it in the middle of the street
Don't ring the doorbells
I am a believer
of something far and beyond
You won't understand..

Religion is a way of life
Don't force it down someone's throat
It is each individual's taste
Let them search and swallow...
Digest and cultivate; Their own meaning of God!

For me I am a born again Hindu
I follow no practice
I eat Beef and Bacon with same passion
But don't think strong aren't my beliefs!

I hope the day will soon come
When religion will be private and personal
No more crusades with modern weapons of
                                                       meaningless destruction
No more discrimination on basis of religion..

How true Prathama! You poem speaks it all, how we - the intellectuals of the 21st century - at least, should understand and view religion as :

"Religion is a way of life
Don't force it down someone's throat
It is each individual's taste
Let them search and swallow...
Digest and cultivate; Their own meaning of God! "

Much has been fought over, much has been lost and destroyed, over this unimportant matter, forgetting that life is much more valuable! I really loved the poem!

"I am a believer
of something far and beyond
You won't understand.."

The lines are fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

More wars were started in the name of God and Religion then people may know.
I agree, people should be able to choose their own faith...unfortunately the leaders of many religions are insane and they want you to join their insanity.

Amen! :) This is so true; a person's faith is really about their relationship with the divine (however perceived). A relationship between two is no one else's business. Well written, well stated.

Thank you Rite and your interpretation is so meaningful! Awesome :)
Oh this is awesome cause I feel the same way... I believe in God but I do not believe in organized religion... I serve him through my actions toward my fellow man... I applaud you for telling it like it is.

Sure, thank you for sharing Dale :)
i agree with this wholeheartedly...religion is something that is between us and God.

no one else...all others are free to choose...let us be.

Since when are you Italian, ooops I meant to say Vatican! LOL
I am truly impressed with the following lines Prathama,

"For me I am a born again Hindu
I follow no practice
I eat Beef and Bacon with same passion
But don't think strong aren't my beliefs! "

- You bared your true, forthright and candid self here. I am totally with you and I too do not believe in organized religion. It is something truly private and personal and none can dictate how and whom we bow to in the confines of our heart, mind and soul.

The poem ends with a great line. Applause!
