My time in India :)

My time in India :)

A Poem by PP
"

With my stay in India drawing to a close..a very honest piece!

"
The more I see, The more I know..
People and Places, Wherever I go..
Some I like, some I don't
Few I love, some I loath..
Some make me talk
With some I am dumbstruck
Sometimes I had to be the girl that I am not
because I were to pretend that
I don't smoke!
I had to question myself a few times;
"Why is there such a East and West divide"?
I am not the Eastern types-
Where distant relatives interfere in a girl's personal life!
I have had to put up some resistance
To prevent spoiling of my personality
Awkward it was when they were asking me -"When are you getting married" ?!
But, it wasn't all that bad..
I had very lazy days, nice joyous ride around the town-
A chauffeur and A maid..
Fresh food (no frozen s**t)
And cheap deals against my pounds!
Met few very old friends,
some very old relatives with great intellect..
With some I clicked, with some I had occasional snaps..

Have had to change colors like a chameleon
To hide in Cultural Camouflage..
But its all GOOD!
I have enjoyed my time in INDIA :)

Well this is a place where many people want to come..
This piece shows U had too much fun..
Its a different country to live..anyone cant enjoy
Living here..and some does who really love it..
Here U learn lots of things in small age..
Giving respect is one of them..
its your good luck that you met your old friends..
U will never forget in life these moments..
Lovely poem :)

There's nothing like travel to broaden expectations as well as the proverbial mind. And yes, more and more we have to adapt, lean this way and that, not to be dishonest, not to lie, but to become more like a diplomat than an adventurer .. it's that or cause problems that just don't go hand in hand in holidays/vacations!

Your writing is smooth, flows very calmly, never blotting thoughts out of sight, and i really enjoyed the following: ' I had very lazy days, nice joyous ride around the town- A chauffeur and A maid..~ Fresh food (no frozen s**t) ~ And cheap deals against my pounds! ~ Met few very old friends, ~ some very old relatives with great intellect..~ With some I clicked, with some I had occasional snaps..' Those words are pretty graphic, fun to look at over and over!

I saw more than 40 countries. Each country is different. I like your thoughts on India. The old ways are good and bad. I learn when I traveled. To fall into the culture. I learn many good things because I saw and communicated with people in my travel. Hard for old places to change. Thank you for the entertaining blog.

Glad to see you're active again :) I am not the Eastern types-
Where distant relatives interfere in a girl's personal life! - You just summed up so much in that one line. Haha this was brilliantly written, living in India I can totally understand the full scale of where this is coming from. To hide in Cultural Camouflage..
My new slogan, I'm a Cultural Chameleon. < 3 this is definitely going in my favorites. attagirl, what a write!

Oh I love this Tink! I marveled at your bizarre chameleon act and went on a mini vacation in my mind with you. I like the concept of it, we need to loan ourselves to different experiences whilst still staying true to ourselves. I dipped my toe into India's' culture and enjoyed this read immensely!
