A Stale Morning Fever

A Stale Morning Fever

A Poem by PP
"

Just a less than 5 minute spared random piece of thought.

"
A stale Morning
Sheets from last night
Reminiscent of a dreadful nightmare
or is it,
Effect of a mesmerizing dream?
Sigh of relief it is,
or is it,
Sigh of despair?
For the sleeping is over
Eyes are no longer shut wide open.
No more dreams or nightmares
It is all over.
For it is the stale morning indeed
Wake up,
Keep the eyes shut wide open
You don't want your vision to perch on horrible reality
You don't want your heart to catch a cold
You're hell lot of a dreamer
Don't catch the stale morning fever.

Very nice...this reminded me of how much I really hate the morning. I really loved the lines, "No more dreams or nightmares/ It is all over./ For it is the stale morning indeed". Nice job :) :D :D :D

Captivating word usage to describe the doldrum of so many mornings. I enjoyed this for its earthy, easily related theme. Well constructed and delivered to be a truly enjoyable read.

Reality does bite and it has sharp teeth.. very much enjoyed this poem...

You don't want your vision to perch on horrible reality
You don't want your heart to catch a cold
You're hell lot of a dreamer

Love that part.

i like the "catch a cold" to "morning fever"
I also really like the "eyes are no longer shut wide open" It gives this a lot of depth and plays nicely on opposites. Very good.

in dreams we accomplish, love works out, all those good things...

in reality we are alone, and life feels stale and uncompromising.

nice idea here...like the play on words with "eyes shut wide open" rather than "eyes wide shut"

the dreamer wakes up to reality...

the next to the last line seems to be missing something..it is a little trippy...

i like the conflict between nightmare and good dream...which one was it...perhaps waking up was a good thing, not a bad thing...

i have woken from both...and the sigh has gone either way.
