The Church of Service

A Poem by Paul Seaman
"

...musings on the way to Church...

The Church of Service

       the rite to do right

          by works & deed

   cooperation of Spirit

       joy in duty

   worth in fight

   for what is right

       in Spirit.

Service to Man  -- Service to family

          obligation

   to joy.

servitude to grace

obedience to destiny

       and valor.

I visit the Church of Service every day

I tithe to the God of Goodness

I worship at the feet of justice

and I martyr at the hands of

              ignorance.

I am grateful to serve

for each breath is my last

          in faith,

       and my first

          in hope.
