Man

Man

A Poem by The Maverick
"

The sadness of not being able to find peace, flooded and influenced by death by religion and wants is a longing for peace. Just being a man a human.

"
I am an ancient race, "a man". A man, who now has become so many things.
Of religion, country, of this side and that.
Of them and those, mine and theirs, ours and yours.
Of religious right to kill and let live.
Somewhere during this time of evolution I got lost.
I stopped being just a man, the ancient race.
I'm modern now. Civilized, and never before have I been so lost
In looking for peace of being "just a man".
The more I wander, the more I learn,
I learn that all that is now is not the truth - whole,
And neither the truth of what was is now.
The more I know, I find that there is more to learn.
Somewhere in me the ancient man has been speaking.
I've heard it many a time, but I've just begun to listen.

Profound and well-penned poetic journey back and forth through time. “A man” in changing stages...having to learn once again from the beginning. Excellent poem.
