Curtains

Curtains

A Poem by The Maverick
"

Pondering about life after my mother's passing on

"
I wonder. When my show is over and my curtains drawn,
When there will be no more sunshine’s or moonlit nights
No more aahs! Or oohs! Of wondrous sights,
Have I a candle that sheds enough light,
For those following might catch their sight.
I’ve tried to be, not a firefly, neither its light do I deny,
A little light maybe, like a far away star....
No! Not a star, neither a light.
I’ll settle for footprints deep in the sand,
Some could follow, for we live on land
For someone or together hand in hand.
Yes! I'll settle for sand for there is where I will lie
When my show is over and my curtains drawn!
