The Laughs Will Fade

The Laughs Will Fade

A Poem by PJ_Bat
"

A young girl left alone yet again. She's surrounded by such joy, but she feels such isolation.

"
A golden glint shines,
Sprinkled through the painted leaves
As a daughter weeps.

The air is blissful,
Gleeful songs on each corner.
A silent heartbreak.

Children are giggling
Parents' smiles filled with such pride.
Abandoned again.

Eventually,
The golden glint will vanish
and the laughs will fade.

See the bitter wind,
Ripping through the painted leaves?
Their beauty destroyed.

Fathers turn their backs
And they never say farewell.
No matter your cries.

Mothers stop caring,
Their love grows for the bottle
And their beloved pills.

Her last love, toxic.
Screaming inside, her smile stays
She bids them adieu

Alone with her razor
Consumed with a fierce disgust
A mess, a mistake.

Lonely redefined,
Her deafening cries breaking.
Deserted, vacant.

Sweet isolation.
