Ode to City Nights (Horatian Ode Style)A Poem by Peter CastelThought I’d try my hand at different poetic styles other than Shakespearean Sonnets
As the cool night’s breeze fills the air,
It gently pushes my black hair Into my face and eyes As I look in the sky. I can hear the cars passing by From my balcony three floors high. This place is so lively; The nights in the city. Conversations late in the night. Buildings stand at enormous heights. I quietly observe The art this city carves. There’s always something going on When there is absence of the sun. I won’t get tired of this; The late night city bliss. © 2021 Peter Castel |
