What Once Was Mine

What Once Was Mine

A Poem by Peter Castel
"

I have a bad case of unrequited love

"
Just her voice brings me sweet serenity.
Her laugh is probably my favorite sound.
Her personality is so bubbly.
Her kiss alone makes my heart beat and pound.
Her very touch is so gentle and sweet.
I love the feeling of her hand in mine.
The way she embraces me can’t be beat.
Her kiss, her lips, it tastes good as fine wine.
I get intoxicated by her smell.
The very sight of her makes my knees weak.
All I want now is for her to be well.
She’s all that I have been trying to seek.
She has all these beautiful traits galore,
But I have to see that she’s mine no more.

Unrequited love is painful, but take hope. Twenty years from now, you may realize it would have been the wrong match.
