Secrets and Lies

We all have secrets

We all have lies,

We try to hide them

To bury them deep inside,

But they break free

Always coming to the surface you’ll see,

Showing their ugly heads

Ruining our lives tearing them to shreds,

They stop at nothing

Like a fire, consuming everything,

In the end they never leave us

Always smoldering just beneath us,

You may forget them

But they never forget you,

And we never learn

We just make more,

And they too will consume our lives

Drowned in a sea of lies,

And as for the secrets

Do we really have any regrets?

We all have secrets

We all have lies.
