THE WHEELS THAT SAID GOODBYE

THE WHEELS THAT SAID GOODBYE

A Poem by PASSIONATE
"

THE NIGHT MY MOTHER PASSED AT HOME AND I HAVE BEEN HER MAIN CAREGIVER

"

THE WHEELS THAT SAID GOODBYE

They know me: I was their resident vocalist providing comfort to their clients

But tonight, I was in need of their meticulous care.

I promise, you will not have to endure long.”

We will be there as soon as permitted.”

I heard the knock at tbe door while climbing the stairs.

I went to the bed and wailed

Yet, my screams did not drown the rattling of the wheels.

They carried the woman who loved me from the beginning.

They gently rolled her out the front door; the wheels still could be heard.

As they lifted the wheels into her last ride, I heard them...the wheels.

The wheels that took my “Puddin”...my mommy.

I hate the wheels that made me say goodby
