Filling in with the one you're near.

It feels oddly manipulative, Miss.

When what I'm really saying is:

"Hello.  

I'm kind of interested in you.

But the truth is, 

I've accidentally

Already fallen 

For someone else.

"Can't be with her, though.

And I think about that too much.

So my friends told me

To talk to a bunch of other girls

To get my mind off her.

"So, here I am.

Maybe something will happen.

Maybe it won't.

But don't get your hopes up.

Or go prying after my heart.

"Because, honestly, 

It's some

Twelve hours or so

Northwest of here,

And I don't know 

When it's coming back."
