#1- Thinking about Midnight.

April Fool's Day. And doesn't it feel appropriate?

Just months ago

I’d lie in bed, hang up the phone.

And know

You were out there,

Somewhere

Thinking about me, too

 

But now, tonight

I look at the clock

And cry.

Knowing you’re probably with Him.

Somewhere.

Arms and legs a-tangle.

 

And at the moment,

As He works His spell

On you.

In you.

I couldn’t possibly be 

Further from your thoughts, Miss.

I'm new to poetry. But someone special to me really likes it. And for whatever reason, I thought I'd give it a try. Sounds pathetic, explaining it like that.

well, let me say nice try and success!!! I read part of a comment you left for Jacob in one of his poems and you mentioned you played jazz, now I am sure you did not just pick up your instrument and start to play.. but struggled with music and as you practiced you became more proficient and better... this is also the way most poets do it as well... reading as much poetry as possible and writing until your fingers drop off and even then you will think I am just a newbie at this poetry thing.. at least that is what I think of my writing..

but having said this, you picked a good name, "paper"... paper allows many things to be written on it and this poem, while pulling at heart strings with emotion, is well deserved to have paper accept it...

I hope that this "someone special has seen your writing...

But to be honest, I'm pretty torn as to whether I want her to find these poems. If she does, I hope it's not for a few months or maybe even years. Things still feel pretty raw, and this is how I'm coping with things.

We all get troubles wit love. Someone can survive, and someone dont. Your poem is very realistic and keep some kind of beauty. This is good writing.
