Ballad of Chaos

Ballad of Chaos

A Poem by P.H. Carver

 Unfortunately vast,

It’s out of control,

How long does it last?

It burns the soul.

Burning fast, Burning free,

It's on a roll.

 "Controlled chaos" they say,

To the man who lost it all.

 "Stay away from me man,

Stay away indeed,

I don't need what your selling,

I don't want any weed."

 Those who once,

Dressed clad in slacks,

Now roam ‘freed’,

from reality’s grasp.

 His family has tried,

To curb his addiction,

Alas to no avail,

Their voices were thin.

He used to comb his hair,

Before the drugs found him,

Now he just stares,

Eyes cold as tin.

 It’s out of control,

Turning the nice cross,

Wretched as a whole,

The ballad of chaos.

I don't think this is sad per se. It could have been sad, since it speaks about someone who seems to have lost his purpose in life, but the way it's written makes me think that the man himself may have just let go rather than gotten lost, and that it is his surroundings that seems to view him as lost. People's good intentions can be destructive sometimes.

I dk really know, Kind of sad but also like I am not there feeling.
like there is a cold stare looking back at you in a mirror,
a empty feeling of what you could be but you are not.
If that makes any sense to you. Powerful write!

Sadness really. He made his choice, and people would feel that way about me.

There is definitely a rhythm to this piece. It has a very nice flow... I feel the slow burn as you build "The ballad of chaos"- well penned!

This piece illustrates that strength of resistence to one's questionable choices begins with strength of character, regardless of the cause of one's falter.
