Chemist In The WavesA Poem by Jonhoi VaughnI stooped into shifting silt, Scraping a loose foundation at the base of my feet.
Clouds frowned at this; Pompous and hyperbolic in anger and intent.
I too drowned; Hypnotized by the scoop of sand, gathered in my clasped palms.
The sea is an almighty chemist Stirring me into its microchosm, Changing me. Perhaps drinking me in the sands of time.
I die.
But only for today So that tomorrow, I can say, "I have lived".
