The Fool

The Fool

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

It may be nothing after all.
If I could stand on the mountain under you
And maybe sit and wait
For the tears to collapse.
Perhaps...
I thought you would spill your soul.

I was once a fool

not a fool at all. One day the tears will . . . the soul will. . . never a bad thing to stand on the mountain. Always something.

Have you ever read Edward Rowland Sill's "The Fool's Prayer"

the last line goes something like "Lord, be merciful to me a Fool" . . . an old favorite I guess. And a new one here.
