One Day Called,

One Day Called,

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

Inadequacy…

If you think you can plea indifferently to God,

You must be Lucifer.

You must be within the range of divine nine to five.

Plea indifferently and you will find peace… in a grind…

In a grind of ash and stone…

A stone that was once a pillow

Resting the minds of owls in willows…

And Wise lonely widows.

Plea indifferently to God and become a concept called Lucifer…

Stop short of this orgasm and you will infiltrate a war zone

So violent…

So alone…

So personal…

That you will have to watch the world metamorph

Through the transparent opaque barriers you call your eyes…

Plea number one: “The Plea of Humanity”…

Plea number two: “The Plea of Insanity”…

Plea number three, and by now is just bloodclaat profanity!

Indifferently, please plea in the mirror and call the image you see, god,

Mr. Lucifer…

Do this one by one,

Six foot six,

And seventy times seven.

Look into the night sky and stop short of a plea to a being,

That shot himself from Orion’s bow into Scorpio’s tail…

To sting Ursa Major so I can be poured into the seas

Of Pisces…

So I can swim into the canal of Pleiades

Who will only preach:

“M**********r, there will be no sleep tonight!

Know this, especially when you plea!

Your perfection; your fraction of Me

It is a righteous illusion called, ‘Inadequacy’.”

Indeed…

My plea has matched the stipulations of the International Bureau of Standards:

Because I am human…

And have planted many seeds in a thing called “need”.

Emily Dickinson wrote this:

I took my power in my hand.
And went against the world;
'T was not so much as David had,
But I was twice as bold.

I aimed my pebble, but myself
Was all the one that fell.
Was it Goliath was too large,
Or only I too small?

Like her, I still fight and I still fall hoping one day to grow taller.

oh, oh, so many have been writing about seeds lately. I think we must be part of a universal consciousness and we draw from the same inspiration somehow. I stop somewhere and I find an idea that has confounded me in different words than I thought it. The cafe is such a blessing to us.
