Love and other Inertia

Love and other Inertia

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

Let the tongue wander.
Let it take time inside my soul and tap into the veins…
Teach me;
That I am lost in the bigger scheme of things;
The dot of the “i” in this Grand Design.

Let the tongue wander and drown this kiss,
Silence the ghost.
Giving passage for this song to swim through the oesophagus
And blot out the scream that is crawling up my heart.
Damning me into an emotional cesspool.
I’m lovin it.

It’s the chain.
The link,
The sting to bruise your heart and the kiss that follows to soothe;
It’s the pull into the corner of your mind that buries you far from the sun.
For this… One lonely time in the shade
To breathe a grand eloquent sigh.

I am always at a loss as to what to put here when I meet accomplished writers such as yourself. Knowing the worth of your words and being able to describe that here are two very different things. Suffice it to say, I'm a big fan of your poetry.

"Giving passage for this song to swim through the oesophagus"
