Tip Toe Ocean

Tip Toe Ocean

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

I meandered somewhere along the spine of Life Stream
A cold coil into the soul;

Into vapour

Into clouds

A puff of smoke that was almost at the edge of a dream.
Gradual and granular; a waltz atop silent breathing ocean...

And it was so sweet and it was real quiet...
That I heard whispers from the ice caps
Yet to be spoken...
Cries yet to be born...

I heard...
Leaves wrinkle...
Petals crash and voices collide.
Fires die...
Shadows hide.
And lovers sigh...
Autumn's euthanasia still plucking at the strings.

And in the middle was my soul
Open wide...

Yawning at midnight God...

that rhyming stanza though...
this poem reminds me of this time years ago. i was coming from portland and was being driven by sea, but just for a moment, maybe less than a second, i saw a palm tree overlapping the moon with the sea underneath. oddly enough 90s rnb was playing. this poem captures that feel so well that i'm glad i don't feel the need to write such a complex moment. i can just read this!

Very deep. I love it. Hearing it, it just floated above the clouds. Reading it, I understand. Use less ellipses though.

your voice has a softer, yet more profound timbre

i whispered the words just as if i were at midnight mass in a grove of ghostly trees

it is good to see you here :)
