My Family Hates Me

My expressions show happiness
You of all should know how well I hide the sadness

For years I've been forgotten
Always being compared to stars that give off a fake glow
My heart aches but I know I can't let it show
I let the pain engulf me
Let myself be attacked by words of hate from those I loved
You of all should know why I hide from my beloved

How would a child live this way
A life full of pain and torture
Trading tears for fake smiles
Emitting off a false sense of security that I am fine
Sad to say I'm not

My expressions show happiness but,
Emptiness is what lies inside
