A Walk In the ParkA Poem by OxygenTanksI wrote this after I took my final exam for English class. I had this pictured and written in my head and now here it is.And even though the sun shines bright, the darkness surrounds me - there is no light. The moon overpowers the sun, it's always dark. Behind a cigarette I sit at this lonely park. My mind and body wait for the suns warm glow, but it's winter and all I feel is the cold white snow. The cigarette smoke disappearing into the air, flowing wildly in the wind, my long brown hair. Looking all around for a familiar face, only memories linger around this dark, lonely place. Wishing you were here was not even enough, who knew losing someone you loved would be this rough. The park and the night have become my home, no friends or family, just me all alone. The concrete sidewalk is what gives me direction, walking miles and miles with no sign of progression. They keep me going, yes, they are only streets, but I will stay on this path until my heart ceases to beat.
