A Love Story

This is a very short poem about a failed romance.

Over before it starts

Ending as it opens

Our book was so fun

A novel of joy

Now it falls flat

Pages all crumpled

Slowly it closes

Table under it

I pick it up

Brush off my tears

Walk to the shelf

Where we had first met

Kiss it goodbye 

And move on to the next
