Mountains Left

Mountains Left

A Poem by Owen J Kato

Mountains Left

Scarred hearts
lonely souls
Parents without hope
Kids without goals

Orphaned dreams
Fires burning low
Spirits blown away
Dinner an empty bowl
Faith dismantled
Honest folk in a bind
Crowns old and rusted

Mountains left
unclimbed.

Oh, your way with words in poems is awesome! There are lines that I would never think of, such as, "Dinner an empty bowl" or the last line, "Mountains left unclimbed."

The period at the end really gave me a sense of finality too.

Great job on this piece Mr. Kato :'D

I really like the depth of this poem. It is a great analysis of a generation passing away, leaving their hobbies untouched, because the dreams were missing. A very great title!!

Yeah thanks! It's a sad tale I guess. But someone will end up climbing mountains again. I just wish .. read more
Hmm I really like this, it has a nice flow when reading it. When I saw the title first I thought it was going to describe mountains, then I was wondering if it was about someone lost in the woods. Is there a hidden story within this piece? Either way, it was still a nice read.

Good Job
