The Universe

The Universe

A Poem by Owen J Kato
"

Love is measured over a distance, not a destination, I guess.

"

The Universe

She stood there, moons in her pockets

Endless rings around all the wrong fingers

Stars in her eyes and nebulas in her hair

Within her, an ocean of suns, forests of planets

A milky river twisting and swirling across an endless distance

A galaxy both filled with light and dark places

Bright burning giants and infinite black holes

An interstellar universe to explore

But I couldn’t dare to dream

that I could afford a spaceship

to see it all.

Thank you!
Interesting way of looking at space. The way you start, "She", really makes the piece great. It would seem more fitting to end it the same way, "to see her all" rather than "it". Think it would tie together better, but it's your work.

Really good piece.
