Unrelenting anxietyA Poem by Owen AldinA letter to AnxietyUnrelenting anxiety Unrelenting anxiety, A question for thee. How is it, In the
hour to achieve, You make one
flee? Or need to pee?
Why is it, In the
hour to concentrate and focus, You commission
breathing into disarray? When wanting
to complete a creation with imagination, You seek
to overwhelm. Banish one
into desolation?
And talking of seeking. Why do the make the doubts sprout? You know what I am talking about. Unable to trust actions. Then seeking reassurance from others. 'Am I doing it right?' 'Am I doing it wrong?' 'Can you check this and that?' Causing so much annoyance. With procrastination, Rumination, And all this avoidance.
You conspire in the shadows, Contrive
to confuse, Cause negative reflections of the social
life, Lengthy audits of my health at night, Obsessive compulsions disorientating one. And all the while, Crippling mentally, Shaking uncontrollably, Tense beyond proximity,
