Temptation

Temptation

A Poem by Owen Aldin
"

Some temptations in life

"

Temptation

To have what you got,

To achieve what you earn,

But to get what you shouldn’t have,

That’s temptation.

Getting paid things for free,

Breaking legalities,

Instead of trying to open doors,

Taking what you think should be yours.

That’s temptation.

Cutting corners,

Climbing fast,

Living for the now,

Even if it won't last,

My temptation.

Working for the money,

Playing the game,

Dropping family and friends,

All for the fame.

Rich temptations.

Dropping your clothes,

For anyone to see,

Losing respect,

Is that how it has to be?

Other's temptations.

Devious by nature,

The b***h of the night,

Pulling the punches,

Starting the fight,

Their temptation.

Being true to yourself.

Sticking to your plan,

Standing tall in darkness,

Being all you can.

The only temptation.
