The Hum

The Hum

A Poem by Ovi-Odiete
"

of that which we do not see, but feel and hear and cannot explain. I was inspired by the musician Enya's song "The Humming"

"
Strange
How you feel the noise chasing and trailing,

Following you without a trace,

Without a link

Strange,

Uncanny,

Suspicious,

The Hum.

The Hum,

An eerie ominous sound

Emanating Slowly,

Watching you,

With eyes as dark as the night,

The Sea and Waves,

The sea too

The Land and Earth,

The earth too

The Air and Wind,

The Wind too.

The Hum,

A certain sound coming from the waves of

The Sea Beds,

Slowly and silently
invading man's own subconscious thoughts,
Perusing through his mind,
Slowly but surely

It causes the earth to move in cycles,

Attaining what it has attained again,

And this continues like an endless journey.

The Sea and Waves,

The Waves again,

The Land and Earth,

The Earth again,

The winds, like a kiss

The Road, like a book,

The Heaven,

The Moon

The Stars,
.The Moon,
The Sun,

The Stars again.

The Hum,

Creeping slowly into your thoughts,

Emanating from the Sea Beds,

The Hum has come to stay

And the Humming begins.

Thank u for reading.

The Hum was inspired from the Hum- a new wavelike sound recently just discovered...

The Hum was discovered recently by scientists....
It's a certain noise that emanates from the sea beds... Wave like.....
And can only b heard almost during a subconscious level.....
Or during meditation or deep thinking...
It surfaces the earths and is even captured by the walls....
Current findings linked it to some particular cause of headaches.... Irritation... And allergies.....
It's yet to b fully explored.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Perhaps like me it hums because it doesn't know the words ;)

Im jesting, but this is really fascinating Ovi-Odiete. Like the Universe itself with its own hum that we can 'see' when a television station is off the air and the resultant static picture is the hum being picked up on terrestrial aerials.
So it's like the whales have their own metronome for performing whale-song and its emanating from the sea itself - orchestrating all the Life down there.
An amazing write !

I like this, and even in total quiet -within our own silence we can hear the hum

One is at peace as we
commune with nature
we pick up the vibrations
of mother earth and the hum
of the sea and much more
In those quite moments we can hear
it's a a divine trance like feeling
and sound we tune into ..lovey poem

Thanks dear
The phenomena is so strange, put into wonderful words and a poem that makes you think about what it could be and what it couldn't. Exploring things we don't know about is always intriguing.

Thanks in a million ways.....
Oh, I love that you have taken the newly discovered sound made by, from the sea and written a poem also inspired by Enya, one of my favorite musical artists! The repetition you use is somewhat like a wave as it is mentioned and then goes away, and then returns. There are people who have a "hum" in their ears that does not go away and there are medical reasons for it so I wonder if it may be related, or the sound we hear in a seashell when we hold it to our ears. I must think more of this.
Excellent theory/discovery to contemplate.

Beautifully voiced, as we walk into the vibrations of earth, the humming of the universe awakening all around us. May it be your muse always.
