Fear of the dark. Fear of shadows, screams in the night. These are deep-seated fears. And there are reasons for this. Man is a visual creature and has his least power in the dark. You capture this dread very nicely, yet contrast that against the glory of the stars, bright and shining. The result is a haunting piece, which I greatly enjoyed.
I liked the poem. I believe we do carry the shadow. Can be good or bad? Leftover deed and memories to make us wiser.
"Shadows are our biggest fear,
They talk; they stalk,
They even tell stories
Of the things unseen, unknown"
Unknown or seen. Shadow will always be with us. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

This reminds me of "A Barred Owl" by Richard Wilbur. The whispers in the night of haunting shadows, either coming of matter seen, or unnatural. Dark, as Wilbur's writing, not so much the cover up as "A Barred Owl" presents for children scared in the night, but the get that lingers in the presence of those sounds, that is evident.
Nice job.
I can almost smell the mist from the moon shining off of these words---your portrayal of the dark time we call night is eerie and mysterious. The wonders of the night echo thru your words. Great piece of writing. !!

Awwwww...
Thank u so much, this means a lot to me.
I love the concept of this poem, the first sentence seems worded odd to me is it shadows of the night or shadows in the night? Or is it a philosophical point of view. I can see how this would be a great poem to read on Halloween, it is just spooky enough to make one jump at shadows. Thank you for posting and letting us read your work.
i think that everyone can relate to this, as little kids, we used to be scared of the shadows at night. As we grow up, we see that the shadows are all in our heads. They know things that we don't even know, great job! I can very much relate! Keep on writing amazing poetry like this!!
