Not Just a Field

Not Just a Field

A Poem by Outdoors2

Just a field that most will see
so much more than grass for free

Just some blades they may view
gentle sways of graceful you

Just stalks grown withered and dry
ag-ed strength long’s sprig and spry

Just some fodder filling space
curves of smiles, wave ‘cross your place

Just laying matted without care
the tangled look that draws me here

Just stored seed cased in it’s shell
this field of dreams has cast it’s spell

It’s Just a field that most will see
It’s Just much more than that to Me

Tis a pillow for my head on summer nights,
baled up, it fights off winter's plights.
A carpet for my toes come early spring
Grass is simply just a wonderful thing.

This is a wonderful tribute to what a lot of people take for granted, like air, and water. Like the mountains and the desert. Like the stars up above and the ocean depths below.

Life is gift.
Thanks for reminding me of one of the things that I am grateful for every day.

Great write!
