Kill and chill

Kill and chill

A Poem by OR
"

I wrote this a year ago while listening to G'n'R's "Civil War" and thinking about brothers in Iraq and Palestine...

"

You’re lost in vain

You’ve stopped feeling the pain

You’ve stopped hearing the blame

You start being insane

Is it good when they’ve killed your humanity?

And when they’re done with you, you’re only left with insanity

Vietnam, Kuwait and Iraq

It’s all the same old sound track

Kill and chill

If you regret it swallow a pill

Chill, kill!

There’s a hospital here and a school there to grill

Soldier you’re just a little toy

And so was your dad and so your boy

Will be if you just don’t make him see

That they’re controlling you and me

Look at you killing in the name of liberty

While free is the only thing you’ll never be

Look at you killing people for them to be free

It’s Ironic; when they’re dead they’re truly free

But free you can’t be and free you’ll never be

Because those people sending you to war are controlling you and me

Chill, kill!

Let killing be your pleasure let it be your thrill

Kill and chill

Relax and take it easy, remember your routine, your drill

You can’t run

Controlling you is so fun

You can’t run

What’s done is done

You can’t run

Isn’t killing what you do, and what you’ve done?

Obey and in your little safe world you’ll stay

With no one to bother you and no one to slay

Your families as you slay our enemies

Once you’ve paid your fees

You’re killing and slaying the unknown

The old same tricks; they’re already known

They send you to kill

To kill those who threats the world

Well of this same old story I’m bored

Tell me if you’ve killed them all why evil stilled and still

Didn’t you done enough slaying or you just need more bad guys to kill?

Well kill and kill

More graves for earth to hug

You keep swallowing lives like a frog

And the real bad guys will never die neither your war fog

And for the real bad guy

The one who kill but never die

From bullets nor from an innocent cry

I say to you when your day comes you’ll due

So kill, kill

But in your grave you’ll never chill

Kill and chill

But not for ever because you’re going to pay your most expansive bill

Once in grave, you’re going to pay, you’ll never chill

The only thing you’re going to do is screaming, crying and paying your bill

You’ll pay for each torture, each war, and each kill

But until then, until your time comes, I know that you will

Just kill and chill

I'm very inspired by the fight for freedom for certain countries, and by the modern Arabic poetry and this is really a combination between both...

Although I understand war in a technical sense, strategy/tactics, war never made a damn bit of sense to me. All wars are caused by the greed of power and greed is the root of all evil. Sometimes the greed of power is stark, like Hitler; at other times it is draped in religious trappings, there are lots of examples-the crusades, some of the early European wars and currently we have Al Quaida and the Taliban usurping Islam (a great and glorious religion) so they can rule. and the US and theirr allies just don't get it, it is not about religion, it is about power. Well, enough rant, war is plainly pointless currently and God, not matter what name you call him is not happy with any of us involved in war, even if that involvement is lack of opposition to war. War is a waste of time, money and most importantly, lives.

. wow ... this is gut wrenching and heart breaking ... my father served in the indian air force for over 33 years ... and i have had my insights twisted since i was born ... there's nothing more futile than war ... but no one's listening ... freedom is a right ... i can never even comprehend why it has to be fought for ... your poetic voice is sharp and clear ... powerful and expressive ... hope we are all heading into a more peaceful and free world ...

This is so very LOUD. It screams out to the rest of the world with a fist in the air. The truths, yet again, the truths that dwell within this piece are so fierce and so convicting! The lines are long and the eyes are closed throughout the world, my friend. Words like yours might just snap them open. Tremendous write!

This work was really emotional and intense. However, I would agree with one of the other reviewers in saying that sometimes, the rhyming actually takes away a bit of it as opposed to adding more to it.. if that makes sense. Overall, the message is clear and executed well. Excellent work!

If Soldiers would not kill. It would be no need for war. Somewhere in my lifetime I read a Chinese poem that discussed the possibility. I believe as long as big business is running the world. War is great profit for them. I wrote a similar poem a few years ago. The mystery of this world. When countries believe death and terror will save this world. Death and terror will leave us all dead. If we are lucky we won't see our children pay for our foolishness. A outstanding poem. You made your point.

I really like this- the concept is great, and its message should be spread more often. However, the repetitive rhyming just got to me after a while. It seemed forced and almost tedious at parts. I would tone down the rhyming structure a bit and maybe take out some of the repetition in it, and I think that this gem could really shine. :)
Great job overall!
