Hollow as Burial Hill

Hollow as Burial Hill

A Poem by Priest Rada
"

I broke up with my girlfriend. It didn't go well. Written 02/21/2010

"
Tonight I am empty
I feel hollow
Thin and brittle
Like papyrus paper left in the sun
My head is static
White noise
My hands throb
Back in flames
From red to black my heart dies
All I did was tell the truth
About all my lies
I want to be sorry
But deaf ears can know no sound
Cruel fists will offer no forgiveness

Tonight I am alone
Hollow like a burial hill
Dark and heavy
An open grave under a stormy night sky
My words will fail me
As I fail you
So shall you fail me
For truth never trumps false
Leaving everything as a loss
This was the hand we are dealt
I never meant to bring you pain
I am very sorry
What I have done is done
Graves are no place to find rest
