You Relocated

You Relocated

A Poem by Gavin Haley
"

Losing love

"
These memories consume me..
To the point I wish..
They had never existed in the first place.

But I'm drawn back to her.
Like gravity to me and you..
I'm drawn back.. like metal to a magnet..
Like the sun and moon..
I know they never can be together...
Yet I never give up.. reaching always but always rotating out of reach..
Like a cigarette I crave.. it burns out eventually..
Like fire and water never can the two coexist peacefully..
You are a drug I have to swallow.. to allow my sense of self to feel euphoria. .

Without you I feel more fragile and ready to break.
But you've moved on.
Like a ship leaving the port.
Like a soul leaving the body..
Like a flame smouldering I still need your little bit of light...
To guide me to a place where my heart feels at home..
