Sewn Shut

Sewn Shut

A Poem by Otter

You come up to me

Smirk shining on your mouth

Eyes as blue as the pacific

Begin a conversation

But I won’t talk

“What’s wrong” you said

But my mouth is sewn shut from you

With beautiful zig-zag stitches

Each stitch piercing my skin

Blood dripping down

Mouth that is swollen and bruised

And scarred

But here you are

Asking “what’s wrong”?
