Distance

So close

And yet so far away

You’re in the next room, but for me it could be worlds apart

It’s so frustrating

How close we are in our lives

And yet I cannot breach that gap

I want to reach out

But there is fear inside my heart

That you will not accept

That you will resent

That….oh, there are so many things

And I cannot even begin to bring them to the fore

Insecurities in both of us

Make us being together

Something unreachable

But how can I do anything but love you?

Adore you

Oh, I sound silly now.

But you possess a beauty that words cannot describe

That personality that brings calmness to my heart

A tenderness in yours that helps us be ourselves

It makes you sounds like a mother

Or a teacher standing over her beloved class

But what I feel goes so far beyond that

It takes an unseen depth.

And so this distance remains between us

Inside our hearts

And inside our minds.
