My Emotions Inside

I actually got this published in a book of poetry, so it's special to me

 

My emotions inside

Dark and conflicting

They circle my heart

Strong and constricting

The truth I cannot reveal

The pain I must conceal

These are the things

Which with I must deal

The struggle inside

The terror I hide

These are things

In which I cannot confide

I deal with these things every day

And for this fight I must pay

The love I cannot give

The sadness with which I live

The anger I must not free

The happiness that hurts me

I search for a way

To find a place to rest

For it is me

My emotions wish to best

I reach out for help

But to this day

No one will pull me

From this eternal fray.
