True Guardian Angels

True Guardian Angels

A Poem by Orpheus

Sometimes

The one sent to protect you

Doesn't have wings

Or a halo of light

They can't heal wounds

Or make you forget forever

The bad things that happened

Sometimes

They are just a normal person

A savior in disguise

Not wanting to reveal the truth

But helping you

All the time

Making you look past

The things of yesterday

And look towards tomorrow

Look for another day

We put happiness in your life

Making each day good

But ware,

For we are still mortal

And our lives can end just as quickly

So hold us close

Hold us dear

And live this day

To the best it can be

Because

We might

Just might

Not be there

Tomorrow
