Forbidden

Forbidden

A Poem by Orpheus

Standing outside a window
Sadness falling from my eyes like
The rain overhead
Watching a love unfelt
Cry her heart out
Knowing
Without a doubt
I could never go in
To reach
And wipe away those tears
Something is between us
A distance unseen
A sadness that would rip us apart
A melancholy complete
Anger
Hatred
So many things
That keep you
Just out of my reach
Like a forbidden fruit
I wish to know the taste your lips
To know the feel of holding you close
To show you
What its like
To be loved
For who you are
Not what you look like
Two people
To reach across the gap
And hold each other close
In a forbidden love.
