Dark Room

Dark Room

A Poem by Orpheus

I sit in the dark room
Wondering where you are
Once you left,
The light was gone
Bringing shadows
Fear and pain
Gone is the pure glow I would bask in
The warm light that kept me safe
Gone is the laughter
That filled these hallowed halls
The murmur of our voices
Talking the night away
It seemed to last forever
An ocean of pure joy
Nothing could replace
The gaping hole you left
Nothing filled the void in my life
The blackness in my heart
Where the light you brought
Would fill me to the brim
Filling me with contentment
Letting me live on
Keeping my soul young and fresh
That let me carry on
Devoid of Light
I walk these halls
The echos of my footsteps
Following me along
I wish that you were here
Holding you in my arms
My life now equals nothing
From the moment you were gone
Darkness closes in
Finally getting close
The meager light that helped me live
Was losing all its glow
While my time is short,
I tell you this
I found nothing in the world
That would fill the place
You made in my life....
