Vegzilla

This is a freestyle [Prose] poem I just made to try and combat my depression right now, the monster is me and the scene described is like my tread through life as seen by my current perspective...

I am a Giant
A monster
Ravaging villages and crushing dreams
Too powerful to ever be stopped.

Death and destruction cloud my thoughts
In fact Death is a friend to me and
Destruction isn't really a friend but
A guy we like to keep around
Because he knows how to party.

Town to town,
Village to village,
Sprawling metropolis to sprawling metropolis,
The story's always the same.

"Ahh" some terrified lady screams
Soon the Sun is eclipsed by an impossible large figure
Me

"Don't worry, I'll save you" says some testosterone junkie posing as a hero
He's my appetizer.

"We're all DOOMED" declares an old woman once the hero's gone
I let her go, old people skin is too leathery.

"Roar" I say as the people scatter and Destruction starts to do his thing
Death follows me as a snails pace reaping souls as I devour now-empty shells of human flesh.
"Roar" I say again but this time it's only lack-luster.
Destruction's still raising Hell but I and Death are bored
I grow tired of being a monster but what else is there for me at this point?

I have grown large and resentful of these humans,
Nature won't accept me but she's a b***h anyway,
What's a monster like me to do?
Too late to be accepted by society yet too early for me to die...

This one is a bit deeper than you probably even imagine. The scenes and imagery are vivid and portray that depressed emotion all too well. That feeling of settling into a destructive mindset because it fits settles into thoughts of "just doing it because I'm good at it". As if it is ones destiny and the sad realization that this destiny does little good for those around you. (not sure if I explained that right LOL)

Anyways, I really liked this poem
