Night terrors *UNFINISHED*

Night terrors *UNFINISHED*

An old poem about nightmares. Enjoy and R@R!

"

When the sky grows dark in quiet eve

Twisted shadows start to seeth

After night terror lurks the halls

And appear on frightening darksome walls

Do we image such a terrible foe?

In our sleep clad senses running slow?

As we clench our hands with fear,

Of a possible death lurking near

Our mind plays tricks and the shadows dance

Fear cocktails our mind into a fearful trance.

There is no rest until the sun rises anew

There is no sleep until the light glints off the morning dew

What is it then that lights our souls with dread?

Past demons or perhaps the whispers of the dead?

come to claw through open windows or seep through floors

Gliding unseen past locked and bolted doors

As we ride the glittering highway of visions where no time flies

Breathing perfumed fantasies with content sighs

while you sleep with a mind of stone

The shadow creeps outside in dark alone

Then it breaths a rancid reek

And your beautiful dreams spiral into a  horrified shriek

You shoot up tight heart pounding in nauseated fear

Of the evil that seems constantly near

The creature scatters behind the closet doors

As light and sanity floods fourth once more

It lurks and waits for the light to recede

Leaving behind its evil seed

Then you shakily close your eyes

And pray your muddled senses tell only lies

In your memory the shadow glides

Like a repulsive reeking greasy tide
