Shadows Are Among UsA Poem by Your TeashipAbout Shadows and DarknessShadows are among us, Casting a darkened pool No reason to cry and make a fuss, Like dark satin or a blanket of wool.
As I looked them in the eyes, I saw something sinister and dark. They came up and surrounded me, Looking at me with the eyes of a starving shark.
This must be the end I thought, when they drained all life away. Baring their gruesome teeth, As I fought to the death whilst I tilt and sway.
The light had begun to show, As I lolled and mingled in the dark. My blood covered body seemed to bring them back, I violently shook my head as if making a remark.
I've certainly lived a wasted life, Dreaming up creatures of the night. Now I'm stuck and stumbling all alone, Leaving me in the game, out of sight.
When all seems lost, And distant as they always do, Don't try savin me. I now live in the confined shadows, Waving a sorrowful goodbye to you. © 2009 Your TeashipAuthor's Note
