His eyes were cold as ice
She was enchanted by his grace
Though his love for her came with a deadly price
Mixed emotions played across his elegant face

He gently held her in his arms, stroking her hair
She felt at ease not a single fear
When she told him she loved him, he gave her a glare
She was startled by then sad, his feelings clear

She gently yet quickly pulled herself away from him, turning away to hide her tears. He spoke to her sternly and somehow gently, “My love, I yearn to be with you as a protector, and your lover but I am that of your darkest fears” . . . For several moments she remained silent, not sure of what to say. He sighed mournfully and looked away off into the sunset while saying tonelessly to her, “ My dear Artemis . . . I must take you back to your home for night is dawning, ending this forsaken day.”

He took her to her home, parents sleeping, her balcony doors open revealing the two lovers bidding goodbye. His arms around her waist, holding her close. Yet keeping her semi-distant in fear of harming her.

His eyes a brilliant amber color full of love
Her lips against his in a passion so swift
In a flash he was across the room with a slight shove
She saw his eyes, now pitch black in such a shift

Artemis sadly walked into her room keeping the distance between them, and sat on her bed with a pained expression. After a long pause as he turned to leave she said, “My dearest Demitri, I love you to my death. Do not leave me without the promise of return to come one day. For my final life belongs to you in my last breath. I love you for who you are not what you are, take my blood, my life, my heart . . .I am yours forever, this I must say.” He stood, silent in her moonlit, balcony doorway. Staring at her bewildered and longingly.

Then in a flash, he pinned her to the bed. Leaning over her, his eyes pitch black. Her breathing faltered as her heart began to race. She stared up at him, and a small piece of her felt a tinge of fear, as he slowly bent his head, pressing his lips to her neck. She lay absolutely still, heart racing as he kissed her neck tenderly then gently brushed his fangs against it, awaiting her to fear, and hate him. She wrapped her arms around him pulling him slowly, closer to her as she whispered, “As I said . . . I am yours. I love you and I know you love me. Take my blood, or my life. I belong to you, and I most certainly do not fear or hate you for the creature you are.” He quickly pulled away as he heard these words and inhaled her scent, instantly vanishing flashing back to her balcony doorway. She refused to sit up and show him her expression, of which displayed a mixture of love, sorrow, shock, and pain.

He ran through the forest not making a sound
She cried herself to sleep
So fast he reached his manor, as if he never touched the ground
She wanted to be his forever, to be taken to his castle keep

Demitri walked through the tall, old oak doors that lead into his home. As soon as he entered he stopped. Suddenly and turned to the empty, hateful stare of his father, V’lane, and his older brother, Zane. V’lane, seeming to have a pained expression of hatred, and forced calmness as he stared at his youngest son. While Zane stood smirking at the pride and pleasure for turning Demitri’s actions with the human girl into his father.

. . . Meanwhile in the empty frozen lands of Perithya a war raged on . . .

Snarls and hisses through the air
A clash of crimson against pure white snow
Creatures of the night, raging, bringing despair
An evil, glorious, luminescent glow

Ariya snarled, her eyes bright orange as she lunged pinning Luxio in the ice cold snow. All around them opposing covens clashed in rage, as Luxio’s cold hearted laugh penetrated the air making everyone stop and stare at the two vampires. Everyone stared for a long moment as a wide grin spread across Luxio’s face. He spoke the words smoothly but with harsh bitterness “Ariya, love . . . You wouldn’t nor cannot harm me!”

Her graceful haste to flash away
His smirk clearly seen amidst the blizzard
Her stance taking on hostility and grace in such a terrifying way
His position crouching low to the ground like a fierce lizard

She braced herself like a lioness ready to give chase
His laugh so cruel as he held a hand out to her
She remained standing in her present place
Both their visions perfect not even obscured with a blur

Luxio’s smirk began to fade as he dropped his hand to his side. His eyes leveled out turning a brilliant ice blue as he spoke calmly and clearly to Ariya, “ Dearest I wish not to hurt you. Now stop resisting and play my game how I wish it to be! You know I love you but honestly I must say, your family has a long history of disobeying the Elder’s Laws!! . . . So be a good girl and join me Ariya.” He held out his hand once again smiling his eyes flashing a deep green with a haze of orange amid the color. Ariya hissed her lips pulling back bearing her gleaming white fangs, a low snarl emitting from the bottom of her throat.

In that instant the war raged on
The vampires ripping each other apart
Until every single one of an opposing side was gone
A battle not meant to end should never had start

….. Two opposing forces clashing when both should rather be agreeing….A conclusion gone wrong…A battle not meant for this age… And yet…one girl…Perhaps the only one who could stop this war other than the vampires themselves…refusing to do her job because her best friend is the monster she was born and taught to destroy…

    . . . 3 weeks later in the Mainland of Hollows  Bell….

It was a brilliant sunny day, no clouds and no chances of rain. Kyza City was its brilliant, vibrant usual self as always going along with its own business. While 17 year old Rima Moriyu awoke swiftly, slipping into her shower for a quick wash down before dressing in her casual blue jeans and a t-shirt of her favorite band’s name on it “ The Vipers”. She had long silk smooth blonde hair and forest green eyes. She grabbed her daggers and placed them in her usual places in a belt she wore under her jeans and at her waist over her clothing. Along with the sharp objects she placed her favorite gun at her waist and pulled her hair back with a Scarlet ribbon.

She dashed down the stairs dodging laser traps, floor tiles that fell, and nets that sprang out at her slicing them with her daggers, before replacing them and landing neatly on her feet in the doorway of the dining room. Her mother greeted her with a smile. “Good morning Rima, sleep in again I see?” Rima laughed and leaned in the doorway hiding her anxiousness to dash out of the house and replied calmly, “Sorry Mother. I promise I’ll do better . . Where is father?” Her mother sighed looking solemn before answering. “Dear…He’s been called in by the Association again…he’ll be gone a long time yet.” Rima nodded absently.
Her mother continues making breakfast which Rima found a bit odd, considering she normally doesn’t eat breakfast. “Mother…why do you insist on cooking?” Rima asked her expression puzzled. Her mother looked up at her and smiled kindly, “Rima, dear…the Association will be joining us for morning breakfast”. Rima’s eyes widened in shock, and fear. So she responded as best she could, “WHAT!?!?! Mother No!!!…I said I wasn’t going to join nor help them in their conquest…”. Her Mother sighed warily knowing this would become of what she said. Rima quickly grabbed her small backpack and ran out the door unable to control herself now and decided to head to the welcome back party that her parents would KILL her for going to, just a bit earlier than she had planned.

A raging fire within her unable to be doused
His footsteps were light as he walked in silence
An unknown power not needing to be roused
He smelt the scent seeming of a light incense

She hid among the vampires eager to greet her friend
He sensed something familiar though not quite sure
She lowered her aura not wanting a message to send
He walked into the party, her presence his cure

His eyes drifted through the crowd before resting upon her. Happiness rippled through him overlapping any exhaustion, though quickly becoming fear and worry.

Hakari quickly walked to her keeping close and watching the other vampires warily. He spoke to her, his voice only audible to her. “Rima, you fool what are you doing here? Your parents would be just thrilled if they knew you were here! Not to mention this place is full of the kind you hunt, and that kill hunters for it.” Rima only smiled up at him, considering he was fairly tall. She couldn’t help marveling in his good looks though knowing she shouldn’t bear witness to such greatness nor feelings toward him. “ I only came to see that the party was good enough..besides admit it, you missed me!” Hakari couldn’t help himself, and only smiled back at her, but he also noticed how sweet and kind she was.

She treated him as if her best friend, No he was her best friend, even though he should be her enemy. She was fairly beautiful as well, he took notice of her forest green eyes, and how they had a certain sparkle to them. Her long silk smooth hair and her fine figure, most humans would have died to look as. Yet she paid no attention to herself, nor liked drawing any authority. He felt in love with the girl and yet…knew he should not for it was wrong. He was a fool for thinking such nonsense, yet he longed, dreamed, and wanted to be with her.

A feeling so sincere it must be fake
Disastrous actions turning things into a horrid nightmare
Letting the emotions spill, showing them is a mistake
Guilt settles in but yet there’s still love to spare

He loved her for how she acted and how she cared
She did the extreme what ever she dared
Not a moment went by when he didn’t miss or love her
She was his antidote, his only cure

He gently took his hand and caressed her cheek letting it rest there. She turned slightly to look into his eyes a great mistake. He saw in her eyes worry and curiosity. All he could do was smile as he brought his free hand to the other side of her face. Her eyes widened a bit in shock as her hands gently wrapped around his wrists not sure if she should pull away or just let it be. He smiled and leaned down ever so slightly and kisses her gently on the lips. Her eyes widened as she felt her cheeks flush, and knew that not only could he hear her heart beat and feel the blood in her veins, but that at that moment….Every eye was on them. Hakari’s instincts quickly flicked on and he pulled away shocked at what he’d done as he realized he just put Rima’s life in danger. “…She’s a human!!”, said one vampire. “NO, she’s a hunter!!!!”, another snarled. Then in a fury vampires were hissing and snarling ready to attack her. She stood her ground knowing she wouldn’t make it out of there by force. Hakari acted quickly picking Rima up as she gasped in disbelief. “ Are you crazy!?! Your gonna ruin your own cover if you help me!!” He didn’t answer he merely shifted his way silently through the vampiric crowd and outside fading them somewhere far from the place. Hakari set her down but pulled her to him holding her protectively. “ Rima, I’m so sorry! Please, please, please forgive me!!! I never meant to put you in harms way I don’t know what got over me.” His words stunned her and she smiled. “…Hakari…it’s okay, it was a mistake I get it. I forgive you” Hakari pulled away a bit, and looked at her his eyes sad. “ No Rima….it’s not okay! I put you in danger…I’m sorry…I just…it wasn’t a mistake. I wanted to kiss you, don’t you get it?…I love you” Those words rang through her mind, breaking her strength bringing tears to her eyes. In truth, she loved him too. She just couldn’t bring herself to say it. Until she saw his expression sadden and turn heart broken. “ OH, Hakari, I love you too!! don’t look at me like that, haha I just couldn’t say it” She hugged him to reassure him that her words were true, and he smiled.
The lovers were true no room for failure
No room for a single shed of despair
They were in love, forever more they were sure
The power that binds, something not even a god could declare

What Rima and Hakari didn’t know, was that something terrible is now taking place.  As they walked through the park Her mother was at home baking fresh cookies. Suddenly the door crashed open, cleanly blown off its hinges as Vampire Hunters flooded into the house surrounding her. She dropped the pan of cookies in a gasp of horror and surprise. One of the Hunters spoke clearly and sternly, “ Tsubaki Moriyu...By order of the hunters Special organization known as The White Iris, You are here by under arrest and are sentenced to death along with your daughter Rima Moriyu!” Tsubaki just stared at them stricken by their words.

Not quite sure what was going on she asked in a very soft and quiet tone…“W-what…why??” The hunters looked at their leader and he nodded, then looked at Tsubaki with sincere eyes but also with disgust in them. “Your daughter befriended a Vampire..” Tsubaki was horrified, confused, and most of all…Appalled at what she was hearing about her daughter…..Can she fix what could resolve into a new war…Or will she have to undergo trial before the Elders…and face her daughter’s Death Sentence?……..
